Crispy Red Rice Dosa served with coconut chutney and sambar made with Vedanna Red Rice

What You Need

Ingredients

Vedanna Red Rice (raw) 1 cup
Urad Dal (split black lentil) ½ cup
Fenugreek Seeds (methi) ½ tsp
Poha (flattened rice) 2 tbsp
Salt to taste
Water (for soaking & grinding) as needed
Pure Ghee or Oil (for cooking) as needed

How To Make

Instructions

Wash and soak red rice, urad dal, poha, and methi seeds together for 6–8 hours or overnight.

Drain and grind to a smooth batter with little water — make a pouring consistency.

Add salt, mix well, and ferment batter for 8–10 hours in a warm place until it rises.

Heat a cast iron tawa on medium flame. Sprinkle water — it should sizzle instantly.

Pour a ladle of batter, spread in circular motion. Drizzle ghee on edges and cook until crispy golden.

Serve hot with coconut chutney and sambar. Enjoy!
