Ingredients
• Red Rice – 1 cup
• Water – 2½ cups
• Oil or Ghee – 1 tbsp
• Onion (sliced) – 1 medium
• Mixed vegetables (carrot, beans, peas) – ½ cup
• Cumin seeds – 1 tsp
• Bay leaf – 1
• Cloves – 2
• Salt – to taste
• Fresh coriander – for garnish
Cooking Method
- Step 1: Prepare the Red Rice
Wash red rice thoroughly and soak for 30 minutes. Drain and keep aside. - Step 2: Sauté the Base
Heat oil or ghee in a pan. Add cumin seeds, bay leaf, and cloves. Add sliced onions and sauté until soft. - Step 3: Add Vegetables
Add mixed vegetables and cook for 2–3 minutes on medium heat. - Step 4: Cook the Pulao Add soaked red rice, salt, and water. Cover and cook on low flame until rice is soft and water is absorbed.
- Step 5: Rest and Serve Turn off heat, rest for 5 minutes, fluff gently, and garnish with coriander.
